My smart second-grade girl has been working hard on writing and revising a book review. I am very proud of all her hard work.
She has been wanting to write a post for my blog for quite some time. I thought this would be a great start. Please take a moment to read her work and comment below.

A Book Review by Claire
Skippyjon Jones in the Doghouse by Judy Schachner is a great book. I love the adventure and originality in this book. The characters are Skippy, Mama and the Banditos. Skippy is a mischievous kitty boy that has a big imagination. Mama is Skippy’s mom and is always busy keeping him in line. The Banditos are a group of Chihuahuas that live in Skippy’s imagination.
Mama sends Skippy to his room for a time-out. He uses his imagination and lands in a shack finding the Banditos in trouble, again. He bounces into the shack and is forced to battle the Bobble-ito, yikes. Will Skippy defeat the Bobble-ito and help the Banditos? Will Mama ever let him out of his room? Pick up this book and find out what happens.
I love this book. It is silly and my mama and I make it sillier with fun voices. Skippy has a big imagination which encourages me to use mine. I recommend this book because it is great and helps readers be creative.
My mama has created a few activities to go with this book. I hope you like it as much as we do.
