While you are sweating away cooking your heart out in the kitchen on Thanksgiving, do you ever sweat about what to do to keep your little turkeys busy? Well wipe your brow because I have compiled a list of activities to keep them busy while you prepare the perfect feast.
What are you thankful for? This is something that I want to focus on as we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving. It is easy to get wrapped up in life and forget to appreciate what we have, especially for little ones.
I once had the pleasure of winning a hot air balloon ride. Yes, you heard that right, I won a hot air balloon ride! Let me tell you, it was absolutely AMAZING! I entered the contest without telling anyone and with my little girl in mind. She is a little dreamer and had been telling my husband and me that she wanted to ride in a hot air balloon since she was able to talk. We started taking her to our local balloon glow and launch before she was two, and ever since, she had dreamed of riding in a hot air balloon and touching the clouds.
Hot dogs, apple pie, my kids, baseball and the Summer Olympic Games. These are just a few of the things that make me proud to be an American, in no particular order of course. I have enjoyed them as a child, with my amazing oldest who is nearly grown (excuse while I tear up for a moment) and now with my sweet little girl.
We are huge Chick-fil-A fans! “Eat Mor Chiken”, a fast food slogan we know well in this family and I’m not afraid to admit it. If you don’t love Chick-Fil-A, I’m not sure if we could ever hang out. Okay, we could hang out but lunch dates would be out!I love everything about them from their morals to their efficient ways of making your wait time less and your dining experience wonderful. They have the friendliest staff (from the youngest to oldest employees!), the best menu, awesome Kids Days, family events, clean bathrooms and so much more! Did I mention the clean bathrooms? We rarely go to other fast food restaurants because we have come to love the level of service we get at Chick-fil-A.
Do you love games nights? Me too! I love getting together with my family and friends to play games, have a drink, and just hang out. We usually try and get together about once a month and take turns hosting. This is great because I don’t always have to be the one with a clean house!
I was one of those lucky kids that grew up taking road trips and going camping. I loved it! Sometimes my dad would just wake us up and we would hit the road! Don’t worry, we weren’t running from the law. My dad is just the adventurous hippy type. Some of my very best memories as a kid are these trips we used to take. We didn’t always have a destination but we always had fun! We slept in tents, our car and sometimes questionable motels. It was amazing! I got to see and learn so many amazing things as a kid because of these spontaneous trips.

Raising your children can be really difficult. Letting them fly is an emotional roller coaster that I’m not sure you can ever fully prepare yourself for. You spend so much time teaching and preparing them for what lies ahead. So many years are spent providing lessons that will allow them to reach the next level of growth.
