November 3: National Housewives Day

Today is National Housewives Day. I like to think of myself as more of a sometimes domestically challenged engineer. This day is dedicated to all of the hardworking men and women that hold down the fort while their spouse is away bringing home the bacon (so to speak).

Housewife is an older term that originated when families were supported by one income, generally the father. The mother would stay home and care for the home and the children.
Times have changed, so today we see a variety of situations. Many homes have two working parents, some homes have a stay at home mom, some have a stay at home dad, and many have work from home parents. I think we should celebrate them all, even the occasionally domestically challenged mom like me! :)

Happy National Housewives Day! How will you celebrate today? I think I will clean the house a little… Just kidding!
