Today is National Brownie day! I think this is probably my family’s very favorite national day. We all love brownies. They never last more than a day in our house.

Want to know what is even better? Brownies were created right here in the USA. They are a cross between a cookie and a cake and made their first appearance in the 19th century after a request was made for a cake that could be eaten from a lunch box. A Chicago Chef from the Palmer House Hotel created the first recipe. It is still served today. The chocolate brownie seems to be the favorite of most people. The blonde brownie follows at a close second. We will be making adorable reindeer brownies today.
